Our Programs

Drawing Foundation and Exploration

This 13-week drawing course introduces students to the fundamental skills of observational drawing through a variety of subjects and materials. Students begin with line, value, shading, and basic geometric forms, then progress to still life, everyday objects, texture, glass, hands, portraits, and the human figure.

Throughout the course, students will explore pencil, colored pencil, pastel, pen and ink, charcoal, and white charcoal while learning techniques such as hatching, cross-hatching, stippling, blending, proportion, light, shadow, reflection, and texture.

Designed for beginners and developing artists, this course helps students build strong drawing foundations, improve observation skills, and gain confidence in expressing three-dimensional form and personal subject matter.

Painting Foundation and Mixed Media

This 13-week painting course builds strong foundations in drawing, value, color, composition, and personal expression. Students begin with line, gesture, proportion, perspective, and tonal structure, then move into color mixing, monochromatic and complementary palettes, composition, and painting techniques. The course concludes with a master study and an independent painting that brings together the skills developed throughout the program.

Designed for beginners and developing artists, the course combines structured instruction with hands-on exploration and encourages students to build confidence, technical skills, and their own visual language.

Ceramic Hand Building: Form Surface

A 13-week hand building ceramics course exploring fundamental techniques, form, surface, and personal expression while developing an understanding of the characteristics of the material from the beginning. Suitable for begginers and developing artists.

Minhwa: Korean Folk Painting

This 13-week course introduces students to Minhwa, Korea's traditional folk painting, through its distinctive imagery, colors, materials, and painting techniques. Students will learn foundational brushwork, line control, color layering, and composition while exploring traditional subjects and symbolic meanings found in Minhwa.

The course is designed for beginners as well as developing artists who want to experience Korean painting traditions in a structured but creative way. Students will build technical skills step by step while developing confidence, patience, and a deeper appreciation for the visual language of Minhwa.

Program Policies

Trial Class
A trial class is available for $50. If you decide to enroll in the program, the trial class fee will be credited toward your program tuition.

Rolling Enrollment
Enrollment is available on a rolling basis, subject to class availability. Students may join an ongoing course during the session, and tuition will be prorated based on the remaining classes.

Materials
Basic materials are included in the program fee. A small, refundable deposit may be required to ensure the proper care and safekeeping of materials. The deposit will be returned at the end of the course when all materials are returned in good condition.
